Although we are Kaospilots who are interested in saving the planet, we like to make money in the process. Tenders, a partner of the school has developed a replacement for the traditional light bulb, an LED with the possibility to save vast amounts of electricity. We are given the task of using our far out minds to introduce this bulb to the world. This isn’t too hard because our bulbs rocks. It lasts eight times longer than a CFL and use half the energy. The bulbs are much more appealing in both there appearance and the light they give. The cost is higher, yet with the high Dutch electricity costs, and the shorter life of CFLs — you will make your money back and start significant savings in one to three years. Not only is this an opportunity to make an investment with 30% to 100+% annual returns, this is an opportunity to stop large amounts of CO2 from polluting our air. So there is a world saving effect of these bulbs and were hitting up the large buildings in Rotterdam just for starters. If you’re interested e-mail me at nathaniel@kaospilotsnl. I can calculate your exact savings in cost and pollution. It’s a way to brighten up both our present and future!
LED Bulbs
February 3, 2009The Lawer the consultant and the Studnent
January 29, 2009My kaospilot team has the task of promoting the CSR of a law firm. Today was a day of collection information. I started the day writing down ideas in the train to Amsterdam. Once at the law firm we got a presentation on thier CSR from a partner. After the presentation our team broke up in to groups. Some of us were interviewing lawyers and others were trying to make scene of what we had already learned. At lunch, guess what, I talked with a lawyer about CSR, then after lunch we created and presented what we have come up with so far. Then I went to a bar and got more ideas on the project form a professional consultant. When we finally took the train home I talked with my two teammates about what they had learned. At home I went on a walk with a member of the class above me and we talked some more about the project. And just before I finally got to my room My room mate became interested in figuring out what we need in this project. So If this is boring and uninspiring blog its because I’m full to the brim. All the best.
A Day at Kaospilots.nl
January 26, 2009My day started out with a 6:45 breakfast of granola and homo milk, followed by a brisk walk atop our roof to Nicholas’ weight room. After my abs reached a state of full out rebellion I headed home, had a quick shower and headed out the door. My first destination, the reason for my early start, was to sell LED bulbs to the four monolithic tours across the intersection. After two brief meeting I ended of with a future meeting and a serious interest if my bulbs could be made with a different fitting.
My spirit lifted by these results, I headed off to school, only to find the class room still empty and in need a serious clean up. After heaving the debree from our floor out the door and into the dumpster, I enrolled my fellow not so early birds in a list of items that would help us create more tidy class room.
Begging on time with a uneventful check in the team moved quickly to a fifteen minute planning of the weeks time table (how did that happen… its like our semester speed record) . This left us a half our of free time before Rebecca’s workshop on the Appreciation Gallery

So this is how it woks:
1. We brake up into groups of 3-4
2. We all are given sticky notes and pens
3. In secession we tell a seven minute story about ourselves that we are proud of.
4. While one member is telling the story, the others group members are righting on sticky notes the good qualities that this person exhibits in the story; sticking them to the story teller all the while.
5. Once the seven minuets are up the next group member tells his/her story and this continues until every one is covered in sticky notes.
6. Then the facilitator turns up the music and all participating dance around admiring all each others qualities.
This exercise is great for learning to listen for the good stuff, and discovering what people are good at. It helps create a atmosphere of appreciation.
After a lovely lunch where I narrowly escaped a chess defeat before crushing Thijs in a last offensive we reconvened to hear Darrel Wallace talk about social networking.
Here is a list of the sites that we could use.
